Leadership Training Evaluation.
I advised CPB leadership as I assessed its Editorial and Integrity Leadership Initiative, a first-time training project over 2019-21 that graduated 100 fellows and potential leaders. I worked hand-in-hand with Head Coach Julia Wallace at the Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications to evaluate the training, which went through real-time pandemic updates, and made recommendations to strengthen it. The mid- and final reports focused on building more diverse cohorts and putting racial-equity issues front and center, bringing in key earlier cohort members to help shape training, and expanding the program's influence within the organization.

This new nonprofit, building a community of support and ethical practice for news product professionals and product thinkers, started with the clear goal of a fully diverse board of directors and leadership. In 2020-21, I worked with the founders to make recommendations, evaluate and secure their candidates, and help them set up the foundation for a dynamic, inclusive, collaborative board.

Strategy Evaluation.
As the board of the then-38-year-old nonprofit association of international news media professionals and visual communicators looked at its mission in 2017, I evaluated operations and made recommendations on strategy and leadership.
