Women’s Leadership Accelerator.

Launched in 2015, this tuition-free, cohort-based model focus squarely on building the leadership and management skills of women pushing digital innovation in journalism. The program combines unique training, collaborative discussion practical tools, and extended coaching, infused with diversity. Including the graduates from the continuing training of original partner the Poynter Institute, over 400 women have built a community of support and strength. (I continue to be a proud mentor.)

HBCU Digital Media Fellowships

and MJ Bear Fellowships.

HBCU: Five students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) receive hands-on experience during the Online News Association Conference, creating a digital project and participating in mentorship focused on emerging technologies, tools and approaches to reporting and distributing news online.

MJ Bear: Identifies digital journalists under 30 whose work represents the best of digital news, and supports them with tailored coaching, training and opportunities to publicly share their work.

Challenge Fund for Innovation

in Journalism Education.

Provided micro-grants for dynamic collaborative projects between universities and local news partners that explore new ways of teaching journalism and providing information to their communities.

​Journalism 360.

A global network of storytellers accelerating the understanding and production of immersive technology for news, helping news organizations, journalists, technologists, content creators and journalism educators experiment with all forms of immersive storytelling, including but not limited to 360 video, augmented reality, virtual reality and mixed reality.
